TFN Cosplay

Post by sashasdoodles » Fri Feb 09, 2018 9:47 am

Yo, anyone plan to cosplay at TFN?

And if yes, do you plan to attend the cosplay competition? Trying out my luck and signing up for it but I've never done such a thing before so... Anyone have some experience?

I am pondering maybe doing something, But I'm giving myself a window of 3 months to do it in before the event. This may be a touch tight but I'm hardcore on the salad at the mo and don't wanna size things too early when that is hopefully gonna change.

I have also never tried it before so I am expecting to set myself up for an expensive disaster :D

I'm curious what you have in plan! I'm going for a hunanformer Lockdown although I will be honest it does look like some goth-western-punk fashion disaster

I mean, if I had to describe Lockdown’s style, that sounds about right!

I mean... TFA Lockdown already has that western look going on. Just add a hat and off he goes...

Thinking of a bot Brawl, but will see if things line up for it to be possible. Your Lockdown sounds awesome though, I can't wait to see it!

I always talk about how I'd love to do it, get a bunch of ideas then do nothing. This year I've enlisted the help of some friends to ensure I finally go through with it!

Going for a humanosed Prowl, maybe something of a holomatter Prowl? We'll see. Not sure if I'll enter the competition as it's my first time doing the whole cosplay gig so I'm rather nervous.

I'd enter if I was you. You never know...

Maybe. I mean Ben and Jon entered with this Vos and Tarn a couple of years ago and won!

Maybe if I bring a table to go full Prowl I'll have a chance!

I've been thinking about a ridiculous Grimlock costume...

Not planning to, beyond my standard casual Dennying. Looking forward to everyone else's efforts though!

I'll definitely be cosplaying again this year.

I might bring back Lady Megatron from 2016 for one of the days, though I'm bound by secrecy to reveal the other one. It's a group effort - some of you already know what it is - but it'll be a surprise for probably Saturday. Maybe we'll go into the competition.

I was runner-up in 2016 in the non-mecha category, with Lady Cyclonus. Last year I entered just the runway segment with Rewind, but didn't compete.
I'd say just go for it. It's a fun experience. I mean, placing is nice and all, but I mostly enjoy the just hanging out with the other cosplayers, and the backstage shenanigans, of which there were plenty last year XD

judging criteria-wise, just try to make as much of the components yourself as possible, cos you will be asked about that. And when you're on the stage, try to be as in-character as possible, too. Other than that, just enjoy yourself. We TFN cosplayers are all about having fun first.
