Colours on Casey Coller's Anode

Post by CWingsyun » Wed Feb 14, 2018 12:32 pm

A while ago, Casey Coller asked people on Twitter who from Lost Light they would like him to draw and people voted for Anode. He later posted up some awesome lineart and welcomed people to colour it.

I've been really working on and practicing my colours over the last couple of years, and recently have been making my way through the book "Color and Light" by James Gurney. So I jumped on the chance to colour some Casey Coller art and try to apply some of the things I've learnt, such as using a gamut mask and a limited colour palette.

Also experimented with a more painterly style. Would love to know what you guys think. Oh, let me know if you want me to share about my process on this piece :D

PS: if you've had a go at throwing your colours on Casey's Anode then feel free to post yours below ^^

I saw this on IG, and I had to stop for a second.
This is breathtakingly beautiful, especially on Coller's OHSOCLEAN linework.

Well fudging done.

Thanks so much. Casey's art is great, and for me is the perfect modernisation of the original G1 cartoon look. His lines are also SO CLEAN.
