I adored Animated. It made me love characters I never really liked that much before (Bumblebee) and introduced awesome new archetypes like Lockdown and Lugnut. It had a great mix of comedy and plot, and was one of those few shows that could be watched by kids and adults both!

Man, think I'm going to hit some fandom archives to find me some fic. Any recs?

I'm not sure about "fics" but any Animated fan should definitely check out the Allspark Almanac published a while ago.

it's got TONS of cool stuff- great artwork for characters never used, bios written IN CHARACTER, clarifications on timeline details, and an outline of the proposed fourth season that was in progress before Cartoon Network pulled the plug.

I'm not sure about that claim given IDW and TFP are fantastic, but Animated was incredible and I'm always trying to decide whether it or Beast Wars is the best Transformers cartoon.

Transformers: Animated is the show that was being broadcast when I got into Transformers via the Bay films, and it was a wonderful thing to start with. Lots of lore, lots of fun, likeable human characters, and the most intelligent Megatron to date. Perfection!

Definitely my number one TF series!! Design is great, voice acting is great, it does cool creative things with classic concepts. We didn't deserve it!

I have a copy myself!! Highly recommend it, and it's well worth what I paid for it. I personally love all of the character model/ref sheets included, and the blue prints and designs for some of the figures.

I think TFA is really good for fanartists, the style I think is pretty good to emulate for artists who have less experience drawing mechs. The character designs are just so fun, too! It's the series that got me to start drawing robots

I got back into Transformers via Animated, Prime and the relaunched comics.

Animated has the best setup I think - I love that the starring Autobots are basically just a blue-collar work crew who get in way over their heads against a horde of warbots from the Old Days.

Animated Megs is probably the creepiest, for me - also mostly competent which made a huge change from what I'd seen previously!

The toys are also probably the best run, as a whole, at least in terms of show accuracy. I've got more Animated figs than anything else, anyway, and actively hunt them down on eBay and such more than any other series.

I wish Adult Swim would make season 4 happen on Toonami.

I love it! Jazz and Prowl were my favorites in it.

Animated was the 3rd cartoon series I watched (After TFP, which was a nice introduction in general, and RiD2015, which I won't comment on cause well, it fell flat for me after the s2 finale and never touched it again), and at first I was abit wary but... I got really quickly hooked. I know I used to be wary of the designs, but overall they grew on me, along with the series. Definitely one of my favourite series if I had to name one.
